Day 1: The Adventure Begins
The first day starts at 8 a.m. with an early visit to the "Mercado Municipal" in Manaus. Discover and admire the many exotic fruits and the fresh fish from the fishermen.
Afterwards, a speedboat will take you to the famous place where the Rio Negro and the Rio Solimões merge into the Amazon River and the colors of the rivers mix in an impressive way. From here, you will continue the boat trip until reaching one of the so-called floating villages. Gain insight into how people along the Amazon River live their daily life on the floating houses.
Then, you will go back to Manaus to the harbor "São Raimundo" where you will board a ferry that crosses the Rio Negro in about 40 minutes and takes you to "Cacau Pereira". From here, you have a great view of the Rio Negro. From "Cacau Pereira" you will drive about 30 minutes by car, followed by a short boat ride across the "Ubim" river, to reach the Caboclo (natives) Guesthouse. The guest house offers simple accommodation with "open air" showers and hammocks in the middle of the Amazon.
After having lunch around noon, you will go deeper into the magical world of the Amazon river forests, the "Igapós", with canoes. Here you will navigate through the small tributaries of the Rio Negro, the so-called "igarapés" that wind for miles through the jungle. Back in your accommodation, you can think of all the new things you saw during the day while having dinner. Spend the night in your bed or if you like, in the hammock.
