Amazon - Dolphin Lodge

The Dolphin Lodge is located on the margin of the Mamori River, about (78km) south east of Manaus. It's about four hours of traveling done in three parts the first being a twenty minute trail from river port Ceasa to Careiro by speedboat you'll have the opportunity to see the meeting of the negro and Solimões river (meeting of the waters); the point where the Amazon river begins. Here you can take photos. The second trail being forty minutes is done on the Manaus - Porto Velho highway by bus.

The third trail, which takes ninety minutes, is by speedboat traveling on the Araça River until Dolphin Lodge you'll see many creeks. This trail is also ideal for bird watching. Other than the landscapes you'll have the opportunity to appreciate the rich bio diversity of this area.

Infrastructure:

There are 5 available complexes:

01rst complex is wood construction with wood floors and roof made of straw extracted from the Babaçu tree. Where is situated the Reception, Restaurant, Bar and Kitchen.

02nd complex a chalet with 6 double apartments with private wash rooms and verandas.

03rd complex a chalet with 2 triple apartments with private wash rooms and verandas.

04th complex exclusive for overnight sleep on hammock, straw roof with wooden structure with changing room and insects net all around. With shower and wash room out site door.

05th complex a chalet with straw roof with games (pool table, cards, domino, ping pong) and hammock for relaxing.

Dolphin Lodge is fully protected with insect nets to proportionate the best comfort possible during your stay.

Type of Accommodation:

6 Apartments with double rooms, 2 apartments with triple rooms with wash rooms and verandas.

Also an area for accommodation in hammocks for 15 people.

During our break time we have wonderful areas where you can relax spread out in hammock in one of the privilege spots of the lodge's facility.

If you also prefer canoeing by your self by the rivers. All our professional staff have a concern with the environment during the activities. Conservation and preservation is our objective.

Pupunha Package 4 days/ 3 nights

1st day - Leaving the hotel at 07:30 am by car to the river port Ceasa (20 minutes). Take a speedboat to the village of "Careiro da Varzea" (30 minutes), at this point we will be passing by the meeting of the waters, where Negro and Solimões River meet (meeting of the waters). This is where the Amazon River is formed floating from this area towards to the Atlantic Ocean.

After a stop at the fruit market, take a bus or a van to the Araça River via the Manaus-Porto velho highway (40 minutes BR319). By boat we pass many lakes, creeks, opportunity to see also water Lillies with its enormous floating leaves and native's village and communities. An ideal to spot for all type of wild life watching birds, alligators, fishes, snakes and monkeys. During this trip to the lodge you can be surprised by a creature at anytime. Arrival at Dolphin Lodge is scheduled for 12:00 pm. Lunch will be served, fresh water fish, beef, chicken, salads and exotic fruits from the Amazon (self service) After lunch, there is a motorized canoe trip which you will get to know the area better. Through this trip you'll get to observe many animals such as monkeys, sloth, iguanas, spiders and a wide variety of birds.

Dinner is served at restaurant of Dolphin Lodge 07:30 pm fresh water fish, beef, chicken, salads and exotic fruits from the Amazon (self service).

2nd day - At 05:30 am we go for early morning sunrise and bird watching.

At 08:30 am we go on a jungle trek where you'll learn a bit about survival with our experienced guides, he shows tacnics how to use wine as ropes, how to climb trees, how to find water and also food. Of course you'll learn about our fauna and biodiversity. At 12:00 pm lunch, after lunch we go canoeing with oars to watch more birds and animals such as slothes and monkeys. Then we return to the Lodge for dinner 07:30 pm and after dinner you have opportunity to see the beautiful glow of the moon and hear the sounds of the creatures wondering around in the jungle.

3rd day - At 08:00 am we visit a caboclo's house to learn about their customs and culture. We'll visit rubber and cassava plantations, and others. This is a great opportunity to take photos the local custom see how collect fruits in the jungle, brazil nuts, herbs, vegetables and spices. Check out how they prepare their food using all this goods and taste some of this exotic product.

At 12:00 pm lunch and you will have opportunity to experience some of those things that you saw by the local's house's (fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs).

In afternoon piranha fishing.

Dinner at 07:30 pm, after we leave on canoe for night wild life watching and also the alligator spotting with flash light, we will catch it with bear hands (this is something that you shouldn't try at home). You will have opportunity to take photos and hold it if you want.

4tn day Breakfast 7:30 am, Transfer back to Manaus by the same itinerary scheduled to arrive at 11:00 am.

Drop off can be at hotel or airport.
