Day 1: Cuiaba – Pousada Piuval

Once you arrive at the Cuiaba Airport you will be taken to your Pousada along with the rest of the group, which is about 110 km away. The pick-up at the airport will be around 15:00. During the drive along the Transpantaneira, we might make some stops to get an impression of the one of a kind flora and fauna of the Pantanal. Once you arrive at the Pousada, checked in and taken a look around there will be the opportunity to get to know and enjoy the facilities of the Pousada. Afterwards it will be time for dinner.

Day 2: Pousada Pivual / Sunrise Tour and Hike

Early in the morning we will go on a sunrise tour in a row boat and experience the waking Pantanal. After breakfast you will be in for a long boat tour making many stops giving you opportunities to take some beautiful pictures of the area. The rest of the time up until lunch is yours to do as you wish, whether it be to lie in a hammock or go for a swim in the pool. In the afternoon you will learn more about the local flora during a hike to an observation tower near the Pousada. Afterwards dinner will be served in the Pousada.

Day 3: Pousada Piuval / Pantanal from Sunrise to Sunset

Before breakfast we will go by bike on a sunrise tour and try to spot animals in their natural habitat. After breakfast we will go on another hike for animal observation near the Pousada. Following these adventures it will be time to have lunch back in the Pousada. After lunch we will go on a horseback ride through a riparian forest near to the Pousada and have a chance to watch animals. After dinner there will be an exciting night excursion where you might be able to see the shining eyes of some caimans and other nocturnal animals.

Day 4: Pousada Piuval – Cuiaba / Continuation Trip

Today is the day you will have to say goodbye to this one of a kind nature paradise. After breakfast around 07:00 in the morning you will head off to Cuiaba and make a few stops - if animals can be seen - to take some pictures before you take these memories home with you.

Further Information

  • Drinks and optional activities are not included in the price
  • The transfers: Airport - Lodge – Airport will be done in groups. At 3:00 pm the transfer will leave from the airport to the lodge. The return to the airport from the lodge will be at 7:00 am. Expected arrival at the airport will be around 9:00 am.
  • Depending on your arrival/departure flight we can arrange a private transfer for an additional cost.
  • Additional Pousada-guests can also take part in the excursions, however this is not always the case.
  • During the boat trip there can be up to 8 participants in the boat, during the other activities there can be up to 20 participants.
  • This trip can also be privately booked on the dates of your choice. (Please request a quote)


Important: Depending on the weather the schedule is subject to change. Please bring insect repellent, sunglasses, hat or cap, flash light, comfortable clothing, a small backpack for day trips, sneakers, sandals, swimming gear and a rain jacket. Avoid black clothing because it attracts mosquitos. Camouflage clothing is best-suited for animal-watching.
