The tour begins at the Cuiaba Airport where you will be picked up by your guide and taken to Chapada dos Guimaraes. Once you have arrived it will be time for lunch before we head off to the viewpoint ‘Mirante Veu de Noiva’ and the geological center of South America ‘Centro Geodesico da America do Sul’ where we can enjoy a stunning view of this landscape and get a first impression of the area. After dinner we will head to Hotel Turismo. Depending on the opening time of the Chapada dos Guimaraes attractions, it could be possible that the itinerary can change.

Accommodation: Hotel Turismo | Meals included: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2: Chapada dos Guimaraes – Nobres / Snorkeling Excursion

After breakfast in the hotel we will head to the city of Nobres where we will move to our next accommodation, the Pousada Reino Encantado. Afterwards it will be time for a snorkeling excursion in the Rio Salobra where it will be possible to see different types of fish from the region underwater. If we are lucky, we might even get to see a freshwater stingray! For lunch we will head back to the Pousada followed by a hike in the area nearby.

Later the adventure continues as we head to the Lagoa das Araras where we can enjoy the sunset. The vegetation around the Lagoa consists of a lot of Buritis which is a regional type of Palm tree. If a Buriti dies it will lose its crown and the steam will get hollow which makes it an ideal place for different types of birds to live and breed. Because of this, parrots are the predominant type of bird around the lagoa and are normally best spotted in the late afternoon. They do their own kind of “flying show” which can be seen during the sunset. Then we will go back to the pousada to have dinner.
