Aventura Do Brasil - Specialist in Travel to Brazil

Brazil | Camboriu, Urubici, Florianopolis: 13 Days Adventure Travel in small group - Southern Brazil Multi Active

We designed this trip so that you can experience southern Brazil close and intensively, in a small group. The connection to nature will be the priority of this trip. We will show you places that a "normal tourist" does not get the chance to see! On this tour, you will experience 3 completely different ecosystems: the Atlantic Rainforest, the canyons of the High Serra Catarinense and the heavenly beaches of Santa Catarina, from different perspectives and in many different ways. We will spend the final part of the travel on the magic island: Florianopolis

Once you arrive in Estaleiro you’ll be welcomed with Brazil’s national drink – a freshly prepared Caiparinha! In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to relax after your long flight, whether it be taking in some sun or refreshing in the ocean.

In the evening we will prepare a “churrasco”, which is a Brazilian barbeque, so you will have the chance to get to know the other participants of the trip as well as your tour guides.

Accommodation: Chalets or Apartments in Estaleiro | Meals included: Dinner

Day 3: Hiking in the Rainforest – Camping with Campfire

After breakfast we'll travel inland. We will walk by rice fields and fruit plantations in the Atlantic Rainforest. Afterwards it'll be time to build our night camp on the river bank. Afterwards we'll continue with a small hike, on which your tour guide will show and explain the fauna and flora of the Atlantic Rainforest. Our food will be cooked on the campfire and you can enjoy a calm night along with the sounds of the rainforest.

Accommodation: Camping in the rainforest | Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4: Trekking in the Rainforest – Camping with a Campfire

Breakfast will take place on the riverbank. On our hike today we will pass by a beautiful river and head deep into the rainforest, where there are some giant trees. At the end of our hike we will take a dip in a natural pool and under a waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Dinner will be prepared on the campfire and you will sleep in your tent.

Accommodation: Camping in the rainforest | Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5: Canoeing in the Rainforest

After breakfast you will be awaited by a highlight of the trip: While canoeing in the rainforest we will go through the river, jumping from rock ledges and climbing waterfalls. Climbing up the waterfalls is optional; whoever doesn’t want to go will take a walk around the river and meet up with the group after. After this adventure we will head back to the beach in Estaleiro. Then it will be time for dinner and you will sleep in chalets or apartments in Estaleiro.

Day 6: Free Day

Enjoy the beach directly out your front door, take a dip in the ocean or lie in the sun, relax in the hammock or take a shopping trip in Balneario Camboriu.

The day is up to you to do as you wish; there are still plenty of adventures left on the trip.

Accommodation: Chalets or apartments in Estaleiro | Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 7: Dolphin Observation day in Laguna

After breakfast we will pack our things and leave Estaleiro and head south. Our next stop will be in Laguna to observe dolphins. In Laguna there is a special symbiosis between the dolphins and the local fishermen. The dolphins are said to herd the fish directly in the nets of the fishermen.

Afterwards we will take a 3-hour trip inland till we reach the plateau of the Serra Catarinense, which is a canyon landscape with a little city called Urubici nearby. It is still considered rather untouched since mass tourism has not reached this place yet. Many of the locals still live in the homes of their ancestors and earn a living in agriculture. Our accommodation was constructed in 1948, a simple house of a local family. It is a typical house made of wood that is common in this region. It has about 5 rooms, in which you can find a Brazilian marital bed (ca. 140cm wide). Besides that there is a shared bathroom and kitchen. Our guest mother will also prepare tonight’s dinner in the kitchen. Enjoy the warm-hearted hospitality and of course the delicious food.

Accommodation: Guesthouse | Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8: Hiking in the canon landscape of the Serra Catarinense

Early risers can go with the guest father to go milk the cows. A delicacy is coffee with a little bit of milk, directly out of the utter. Our hike today will take us up to 1800 meters. We will experience a completely different climate, which will also be much colder than the coastal region. The region is known for its araucaria trees, an evergreen tree that survived the last ice age. We will pass by transparent rivers, ferns and head to the ridge of a canyon, from which there will be an amazing view over the valley.

Day 9: Whitewater Kayaking Expedition

Today we will head back towards the coast and take a 2.5 hour drive to the edge of Tabuleira National Park. After a warm welcoming and getting set up with a helmet and life jacket you will head to the river and the whitewater kayaking can begin.

In each boat there will be a personal guide. In the first kilometer in the calm waters we will learn the paddle techniques and commands. The river goes away from civilization and soon we will pass by the last houses. The Serra do Tabuleiro mountains dominate the landscape and the river winds its way through a pristine canyon middle of the Atlantic Rainforest.

The whitewater sections become more and more demanding, small cases and technical surge lines of class II and III alternate with short quiet stretches where the clear water for swimmining will be quite inviting.

After various whitewater routes we will reach the highlight of the expedition. The river narrows and forms two impassable waterfalls. Here we can get out of the boat and take it to a ledge where the brave ones (optional) will jump from 5 meters high into a cove. Afterwards it will be time to take a break and have a picnic on the rocks with the wonderful scenery of the waterfall and rainforest. After about 4 hours of excitement, our expedition will end at the rafting station.

After we have showered at the rafting station, we will get in the car and head to the magical island: Florianopolis. For the rest of your tour you will stay in a cozy Pousada in the south of the island. It is located directly on a stunning beach.

Accommodation: Pousada | Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 10: Free day

Today will be a day that you can do as you wish. Relax on the beach directly out your door or explore the small fishing village of Armacao. Another option is to go on a hike to another heavenly beach, which can only be reached by foot or by boat: Lagoinha do Leste.

Day 11: Hiking, Sandboarding and horseback riding in the dunes and on the beach

Two highlights in one day! We will begin this day with a trip to the white dunes of Joaquina. Here we will go on a short hike through the beautiful dune landscape, past small ponds until we reach the large dunes. Here we will have the opportunity to go sandboarding!

Later on we will continue to the north-east tip of the island. Here we will go horseback riding through the lovely dune landscape, through pine forests and along the longest beach on the island: Mocambique.

After this eventful day it’ll time to go back to your Pousada.

Day 12: Kayak Trip in Lagoa do Peri

After breakfast we will walk to the nearby natural preserve, Lagoa do Peri (Peri Lagoon). We will pack the jeep with our kayaks, paddles and life jackets and paddle to the southern part of the lagoon. The kayaking trip will take us past rocks, small river inlets and inflows from the rainforest. We will paddle through a small river arm as the forest is getting denser and denser. If we are lucky we will also see some caiman. We will park our kayaks and go on a quick hike to reach a waterfall. After a picnic we will get back in our boats and paddle some more. Later it will be time for dinner in our pousada.

We will end this amazing journey with a goodbye Churrasco (barbeque) in the Pousada.
