On our Pink Dolphin Expedition Cruise, you will discover the magnificent landscapes of the Amazon Rainforest. On this 6 day tour, you will be accommodated on a boat and enjoy full board, including typical Amazonas cuisine. On the daily excursions by boat, canoe or simply on foot, your experienced English-speaking guide will always be with you and will introduce you to the region's flora and fauna. During your time on board, if you wish, he will also treat you to fascinating stories about life in and around the Amazon.

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome Aboard!

At around 9:00 a.m., your English-speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel. You will start the expedition cruise by sailing downriver to see the impressive meeting of Rio Negro and Rio Solimoes. Then you will visit a floating village and Janauarilandia Park, where you can walk on raised wooden platforms for the best view of the giant water lilies. In this area, you might also be able to spot monkeys, sloths, and caimans. Lunch will be served on board at around 12:30 p.m., and then you will tour the Igarape (an annually flooded forest) on the smaller motor canoe. After that, the boat will depart to Jacareubal. You will have dinner on board and spend the rest of the evening enjoying leisure time.

Overnight: Expedition Boat, Cabin with a/c and private bathroom

Day 2: Exploring the Arara Region

Included: Nature Hike, Piranha Fishing with Sunset Tour (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Early in the morning, the boat will depart for the Arara river while you enjoy a tasty breakfast on board. Then you will go on a rainforest hike, of course accompanied by your English-speaking guide, as well as a local guide from the Arara community. These knowledgeable guides will inform you about the natural environment of the area, and its animals and plants (including the many medicinal plants). For lunch, you will be back on board, and after that you will be able to refresh yourself with a swim in the river, if you wish. In the late afternoon, you will go piranha fishing and enjoy the sunset over the rainforest. Dinner will be served on the beach, weather permitting.

Day 3: Travel to Cuieiras River and Jungle Night

Day 4: Boat Excursion through the Rainforest

Day 5: Exploring Novo Airao

Day 6: Trip Back to Manaus

On the last day of the cruise, you will start by having breakfast and then head towards Manaus. During the navigation, it is possible to arrange a break for a refreshing swim in the river.

In the late afternoon, the boat will arrive in Manaus and a transfer will take you to your hotel or to the airport.

  • Your expedition cruise starts at your preferred date. We guarantee every departure with the first booking of a double cabin.
  • The maximum number of passengers on every expedition cruise is 10 guests.
  • The electricity on board, which is also needed for the air conditioning in the cabins, is produced by a generator. This generator is located below deck and can also be heard in the cabins.
  • The Amazon region can be visited all year round. However, it should be noted that the water level between October and December can be so low that the smaller side arms of the rivers cannot be navigated.
  • The itinerary can be adjusted according to weather conditions. The order of excursions can change and animal sightings cannot be guaranteed.
  • The ceiling height of both ships is about 5.9 feet (1.80 meters).
