Enjoy this four-day river cruise and discover the amazing Amazon Rainforest. On this cruise, among many other highlights, you will visit one of the world's largest freshwater archipelagos, Anavilhanas National Park, the famous “Meeting of the Waters”, and the beautiful Lake Janauari Ecological Park, where you might be able to spot monkeys, sloths, caimans, and various bird species. During all the excursions, you will be accompanied by a specially trained English-speaking guide who will explain the natural environment and provide insight into life in the Amazon.

Itinerary

Day 1: Sailing on Rio Negro

Included: Lecture, Night Safari (in-group) | Dinner

At 2:00 p.m., you will board the boat and enjoy a welcome drink on the sundeck while the boat sails upstream on Rio Negro. You will also meet the crew, who will provide information about your itinerary and the facilities on board. Afterwards, there will be a fascinating lecture about the Amazon region. After dinner, you and your English-speaking guide will go out on a motor canoe to explore some small creeks and listen to the calls of the abundant nocturnal animals. You will probably be able to spot some caimans, and with luck even some birds, snakes, and frogs.

Day 2: Exploration Day

Included: Morning Safari, Nature Hike, Boat Excursion (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

The day will start with a canoe trip to get to know the area better and perhaps see some parrots and toucans. After breakfast, you will go on a rainforest hike to experience the rich aromas of the leaves, fruits, and wood. At around midday, you will return to the boat and have the opportunity to cool off with a refreshing dip in the river. In the afternoon, you will cruise through Anavilhanas National Park, one of the world's largest freshwater archipelagos, with its fascinating maze of waterways. In the late afternoon you will head out in the canoe again to explore this beautiful natural park up-close.

Day 3: Piranha Fishing and Dolphin Spotting

Included: Morning Fishing, Meet the Locals, River Swimming, Boat Excursion (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Before breakfast, you will be able to go piranha fishing if you wish. After breakfast, you will visit a local village where you will learn about Amazonas fruits, such as cupuacu and tapereba, and palm trees like acai, tucuma, and pupunha. After lunch, we will stop at a white-sand beach, where you can swim in the dark water of the Rio Negro (depending on the water level) and try to spot pink river dolphins. In the late afternoon, you will go on a wildlife spotting trip in the canoe. Dinner will be served as you cruise back toward the Amazon River.

Day 4: Back to Manaus

Included: Morning Nature Walk | Breakfast

You will head out at dawn to explore Lake Janauari Ecological Park. The park is usually a great place to spot wildlife, such as monkeys and caimans, and see the famous giant water lilies. While you eat breakfast, the boat will set off to the "Meeting of the Waters," where the different-colored waters of Rio Solimoes and Rio Negro flow side-by-side. Then it will be time to return to Manaus, and at around 11:30 a.m., you will disembark.

  • Departure: The cruise always starts on Wednesdays. Please contact us for available dates.
  • The Amazon region can be visited all year round. However, it should be noted that the water level between October and December can be so low that the smaller side arms of the rivers cannot be navigated.
  • The itinerary can be adjusted according to weather conditions. The order of excursions can change and animal sightings cannot be guaranteed.
