Brazil: “No more extension of the 90-day visa”

According to a new regulation from October 5, 2012, it is no longer possible to extend the 90-day visa for tourists or business travelers with German citizenship. The law also applies to all other countries of the Schengen area. Previously, you could extend the 90-day visa for additional 90 days. If you stay longer in Brazil than the permitted period, a penalty of about 8 Reais per day has to be paid before departure.
