Expansion of the regional air traffic in Brazil

December 14, 2012

During a visit to France the Brazilian President, Dilma Rousseff, proclaimed her plans to build over 800 new regional airports in Brazil. Each Brazilian city, which contains more than 100,000 inhabitants, should get its own airport, the President explained. Not only the tourism, but also the Brazilian economy and the industry will benefit from this project, as goods and cargo could be transported much faster within the country using air transport. For the expansion of the regional air traffic, the Brazilian government hopes to get help from various French aerospace companies, which are the global leaders in the aerospace industry. Nevertheless, at this date, there are still no concrete negotiations.
