Import and export increases

Both, the import and the export of the Member States of the European Union and Brazil increased rapidly between the years 2003 and 2008. After a brief depression in 2009, the import and export finally culminated in 2011. According to the European press office the exports to Brazil in 2011 amount to 35.7 billion Euros, the European imports amount to 38.9 billion Euros. From all 27 Member States of the European Union, Germany was by far the largest exporter to Brazil (8.9 billion Euros), as well as the largest importer of goods from Brazil (3.6 billion Euros).
