Pousada Vilangelim is located in the small village of Imbassai, about a one hour drive from the International airport of Salvador da Bahia. The white beach of Imbassai is located by a river mouth and can be reached in 10 minutes from the Pousada. On the beach you will find some smaller restaurants, bars, surfboard and canoe rentals and different shops.
From Imbassai you can book a day trip to Salvador, the capital is 50 miles (80 km) away. Another interesting sight is the local sea turtle protection program Tamar in Praia do Forte, about 6 miles (10 km) away from Imbassai.
