Itinerary
This 4-hour, privately guided day tour "Natal City Tour" takes you through the center of Natal and to all major monuments and attractions of this beautiful city. The tour begins with a visit of the Via Costeira, the second largest urban park in the country. From here we are going to explore the beaches Miami, Areia Preta, Artistas, Meio and Praia do Forte. We will also stop at the fortress Reis Magos to take photos. The fortress, which was built in 1598, is an important attribute for the colonization of the country by the Portuguese conquerors. In the years 1633 to 1654, the fort was temporarily occupied by the Dutch conquerors, at the time when Prince Mauricio de Nassau stayed in the fortress. Many national heroes such as Felipe Camarao and the leader of the republican movement in 1817, Andre de Albuquerque Maranhao, were guests in the fortress and stayed here a long time. Because of its interesting history, as well as its unique location, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the fortress Reis Magos is the most important monument of the city. After having explored the fortress in detail, our excursion takes us further to the neighborhoods Santos Reis, Rocas and Ribeira, as well as to the city center of Natal, where we will visit the harbor and the cathedral. Finally, we will stop at a traditional craft shop, to watch the craftsmen working and maybe to buy some beautiful artworks.
