Itinerary
Day 1: Campo Grande - Drive to the South Pantanal
Pousada Aguape, a typical fazenda in the middle of the unique landscape of the southern Pantanal, has been family-owned for 150 years. The arrival via the airport in Campo Grande takes about 3 hours. Depending on the weather conditions, part of the journey will be made by boat.
The ecosystem of the Pantanal is one of the most important in Brazil. Many unique and endangered plant and animal species live here. The Pantanal is especially famous for its abundance of fish and numerous bird species. The accommodation offers numerous excursions, but the weather conditions and the season (spawning and breeding seasons) must be taken into account. The night safaris are perfect opportunities to observe nocturnal species from close up. With some luck, foxes, capybaras, anteaters, and caimans are sighted on this occasion.

Day 2: Experience the nature of the southern Pantanal
After a typical breakfast we go for a ride through open fields, swamps and numerous creeks in the morning. On this excursion, the visitor encounters a lush flora and fauna. The horses are quiet, which means that even those who have never ridden before can join this tour. There is no trotting or galloping. The ride takes between 1.5 and 3 hours. After a typical lunch, the tour continues by boat on the Aquidauana River in the afternoon. The tour lasts about 2 hours and is done by motorboat with a maximum of 6 people.
