Aventura do Brasil Achieves Travelife Partner Certification: The Gold Standard of Sustainable Toruism

We at Aventura do Brasil are excited to share that we have been awarded the Travelife Partner Certificate. This certificate is awarded to travel agencies who prioritize, promote, and value sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism. We believe that the places one visits should be left even better than one found them and that’s why we are proud to offer tours and accommodations that give back to the surrounding communities and contribute to local environmental efforts. The Travelife certification is awared when a certain set of sustainable standards are met. Travelife works to promote and support sustainable tourism and conscious consumerism. We at Aventura do Brasil are proud to be awared this certificate for our contributions to environmentally and socially sustainable tourism here in Brazil.

Travelife is an international organization that specializes in sustainable tourism. They help travel agencies become more aware of their environmental and social responsibilities to the community in which they offer tours. They award certificates based on the principles of ISO 26000 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

In less complicated abbreviations, this means Travelife is looking at three main criterium: environmental management, biodiversity protection, and human rights and social responsibility. We at Aventura do Brasil are pleased work on reducing CO₂ emissions, minimize waste, and promote sustainable uses of resources. Some ways in which we work together to make this into real change is working together sustainable lodging that use green sources of energy, and treat and recycle their own water. We also work together with these lodges especially in the Pantanal and support sustainable tourism projects, working with lodges who protect ecosystems as well as create positive change in local communities. Additionally, we are proud to sponsor a nest for the endangered Blue Macaw. Human rights and social responsibilty is something extremely important to us as well and we are proud to work with local partners who ensure fair working conditions, empower local communities, and maintain ethical partnerships. We are proud and grateful to be honored by Travelife with the Partner Certificate for our hard work and dedication to sustainable tourism. More than 35 national travel associations worldwide support the Travelife certification such as but not limited to organizations like, ABTA (UK), ANVR (Netherlands), PATA (Asia), and FTT (South Africa). We are proud to join Travelife in their mission for creating a world full of sustainable tourism and are grateful to join our peers in one of the most respected sustainable programs in the tourism industry.

We are extremely proud and grateful to be the recipients of the Travelife Partner Certificate and have worked hard over the years to improve our quality of services. We spend time constantly reviewing the lodges, hotels, guides, and tours we offer to clients and are always looking for new and creative ways to better support to the environment and community as a travel agency. This means offering tree planting projects, respectful visits to local communities, and getting involved in conservation efforts all over the country. We at Aventura do Brasil strongly believe that one should always leave something better than one found it and it is our mission to make that statement into real and positive change here on the ground in Brazil. To achieve the Travelife Partner status, we had to ensure as tour opperators, we comply with over 100 sustainabiltiy criteria covering sustainable office management, eco-friendly products, transparent communication with customers and partners, and accepting our social responsibilty towards our employess and within the local communities.

At Aventura do Brasil, we truly believe that sustainable tourism protects the enviroment as well as creates authentic and enriching experiences for all of our travelers. What this means in action is supporting local providers, offering eco-tourism projects and environmentally friendly activities, and reducing our ecological footprint. We are proud to collaborate with family-run pousadas, eco-lodges, and local guides which in-turn strengthens regional economies and creates jobs for locals. Especially in our more sensitive areas such as the Amazon Rainforest and the Pantanal, environmental conservation efforts are extremely important to us and we pride ourselves on only offering lodges that participate in sustainable ecotourism initiatives such as indigenous community projects in the Amazon Rainforest and conservation efforts in the Pantanal. It is important to us as well, when offering environmentally friendly activities, we are focused on enjoying as well as respecting the environment and making sure we do not leave any trace when enjoying activities such as hiking, kayaking, or snorkeling. We are also always working on new creative ways to reduce our ecological footprint, such as choosing eco-friendly accommodations, avoiding single-use plastics, and sustainable transportation options.

Our new Travelife Partner Certification is a wonderful incentive to keep up the good work and support our customers in making their trips to Brazil even more sustainble.
