The most beautiful beaches, coasts, lakes, and rivers in Brazil for water sports

The Ministry of Tourism proclaims Brazil to be the "Land of Water". A new vacation brochure on the topic draws attention to the attractive water sports that are available during a trip to Brazil, with the hope of attracting even more vacationers to this beautiful country with its diversity of nautical tourism.

Brazil's unique coastline is 5,300 miles (8,500 kilometers) long and is lined with beautiful blue bays and small islands. In addition to the coastline, there are countless rivers and lakes in the interior of the country with fantastic beaches. A unique paradise for swimmers, divers, and anglers. Brazil's waters also have a lot to offer for other water sports enthusiasts including sailing, surfing, canoeing, stand-up paddling, kiting and kayak tours, which are at the top of the list for active vacationers. For excursions on the water, a large number of speedboats and sailing vessels are available to visitors during their trip to Brazil—according to the Ministry of Tourism, there are an estimated 70,000 of them available. Visitors can create unforgettable memories during a trip through Brazil on cruise ships and hotel boats which are mainly located in the Pantanal and on the rivers of the Amazon. Approximately 22,000 miles (35,000 kilometers) of navigable waters await travelers, as well as many ports and countless bays. The brochure from the Ministry of Tourism focuses especially on the southeast and south of Brazil.

The enchanting city of Florianopolis, which is located in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, is featured in the brochure. Floripa, as the island is affectionately called by locals and visitors alike, offers not only many fantastic beaches which are a paradise for surfers with optimal waves, but also a 6 square mile (15-square-kilometer) lake which is perfect for boat trips, stand-up paddling, and kiteboarding. At the lagoon Lagoa da Conceicao, there is another special attraction for vacationers in Brazil. On the beach’s high dunes you can sandboard and enjoy a unique view of the lake and the sea.

Florianopolis is teeming with surfers—the excellent wave conditions and the variety of surf spots make surfers' hearts race. The most popular surfing beaches are Praia do Campeche, which is about 3 miles (5 kilometers) long, as well as Praia da Joaquina and Praia Mole. Besides surfing, Florianopolis offers many other exciting activities on and under the water.
Another nautical highlight in Brazil is Lagoa Paranoa in Brasilia. The artificial lake covers 19 square miles (48 square kilometers) and it is near other interesting sights in the city. At the lake, travelers to Brazil will find about 11,000 ships, catamarans, and boats on which unforgettable sights can be seen and memories can be made. Various exciting water sports, such as wakeboarding, water skiing, diving, sailing, rowing, and canoeing await visitors.
Many other great places await travellers for nautical fun during a vacation to Brazil. Adventurous activities and new experiences on the water come with a trip to Brazil.
