On this tour you will experience the Brazilian Pantanal and enjoy all of its beautiful nature. It is the biggest swamp in the world and, with more than 700 species of birds, it is not only an unforgettable experience for bird lovers and ornithologists but for all nature lovers. The Pantanal is a habitat for many types of animals such as monkeys, large otters, tapirs, capybaras, anacondas, wolves, pumas, and jaguars. You will be impressed by all of the biodiversity and the unique landscapes that the Pantanal has to offer.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Cuiaba and Transfer to the Pantanal

Included: Transfer (private, 2h) | Wildlife Observation (in-group) | Dinner
Upon arrival to the airport in Cuiaba, you will meet your English-speaking guide who will take you to your pousada. Depending on your arrival time you might make some stops on the legendary Transpantaneira dirt road to gain first impressions of the one-of-a-kind flora and fauna of the Pantanal. After arriving to the pousada, you will have some time to familiarize yourself with and enjoy the facilities. If there is still some daylight left you can also enjoy a short walking tour through nature. It will then be time for dinner.

Day 2: Sunrise Tour and Nature Hike

Early in the morning, we will go on a sunrise tour in a row boat and experience the waking Pantanal. After breakfast you will be in for a long boat tour with many stops, giving you opportunities to take some beautiful pictures of the area. The rest of the time up until lunch is yours to do as you wish, whether it be relaxing in a hammock or going for a swim in the pool. In the afternoon, you will learn more about the local flora during a hike to an observation tower near the pousada. Dinner will be served at the pousada in the evening.

Day 3: Experience the Pantanal from Sunrise to Sunset

Included: Sunrise Hike, Nature Hike, Horseback Riding, Night Safari (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Before breakfast we will go on a sunrise tour and try to spot animals in their natural habitat. After breakfast we will go on another hike for wildlife observation near the pousada. Following these adventures, it will be time to have lunch back at the pousada. After lunch we will go on a horseback ride through a riparian forest near the pousada and have a chance for more wildlife observation. After dinner there will be an exciting night excursion where you might be able to see the shining eyes of some caimans and other nocturnal animals.

Day 4: Return to Cuiaba

Included: Airport transfer (private, 2h) | Breakfast
Today is time to say goodbye to this one-of-a-kind nature paradise. Depending on your departure time, you will head to the airport after breakfast or lunch. If time allows you can enjoy another nature hike in the morning.

  • Depending on the weather, the schedule is subject to change.
  • Other pousada guests can also take part in the excursions with their own guides, however this is not always the case.
  • You will travel with a private English-speaking guide who will accompany you from the first to the last day of your tour. This travel package can also be booked with private excursions (price available upon request).
  • All excursions have a duration of about 2 hours, while sunrise and sunset excursions are a little shorter.
  • The itinerary can be adjusted due to weather conditions and animal abundance on site. Animal sightings cannot be guaranteed.
