Jericoacoara: One of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil

In the northeast of Brazil, between Jericoacoara and São Luis, lies an almost surreal world of dunes, turquoise freshwater lagoons and dense mangroves. Here you will find the longest and most pristine beach in Brazil.
Long before the surfing world discovered this paradise and made “Jeri” a dream kitesurfing destination, this fishing village was completely unknown. In order to reach this paradise hidden behind huge dunes, you will have to travel through 12 miles (20 kilometers) of dunes which can only be done by jeep or buggy. This unique landscape limited the number of tourists and allowed the fishing village to preserve its charming character. Jericoacoara is surrounded by a national park of about 21,000 acres (8,500 hectares) that is covered in dunes. Those who want to spend their vacation in Brazil, not only on the beach, but exploring nature as well, can discover the park on a buggy tour and swim in the crystal clear fresh water of “Paradise Lagoon”, while enjoying a lunch of fresh fish in between adventures. The low-hanging Caju fruits, which kernels are known as cashew nuts, invite you to indulge in a fresh snack throughout your trip. Along the beach, you will pass the whimsically shaped rock "Pedra Furada", one of Jericoacoara's postcard motifs. Later in the evening, people meet on a dune 100 feet (30 meters) high to watch the sun set into the Atlantic.
