Sustainability Report 2025

1. Who We Are

Aventura do Brasil is a Destination Management Company (DMC) and Incoming Tour Operator specialized in individual, tailor-made travel experiences throughout Brazil, with over 20 years of expertise. Our team is international, with members living and working in different regions of the country, which allows us to stay closely connected to the destinations and partners we work with. From the beginning, we have focused on responsible tourism, respect for nature, and meaningful travel experiences. By designing customized itineraries rather than standardized products, we aim to balance high quality travel with environmental and social responsibility.

In January 2025, we became a Travelife Partner, marking an important step in structuring and formalizing practices that we had already been developing over many years. Our work is guided by a clear mission:

“At Aventura do Brasil, we use nature conservation, cultural respect, fairness, empathy, and social responsibility as guiding principles when creating tailor-made trips to Brazil. We believe that sustainable tourism is one of the keys to maintaining intact ecosystems and generating socio‑economic benefits for local communities.”

2. Approach of This Report

This report provides a transparent overview of Aventura do Brasil’s sustainability activities in 2025, aimed at travellers, partners, team members, and others interested in understanding our efforts. It highlights the operational improvements we have made, the responsible travel practices we promote, and the conservation projects we support.
The report demonstrates our commitment to transparency and accountability, showing both what we have achieved and the goals we are setting for the future. It also reflects our dedication to environmental responsibility, including awareness of CO₂ emissions and efforts to encourage sustainable travel planning. Social responsibility is another central focus, ensuring fair treatment of team members, partners, and communities alike. Finally, the report illustrates how we empower travellers to make informed, responsible choices, integrating sustainability into every journey they take with us.

3. What We Did in 2025

In 2025, Aventura do Brasil focused on strengthening our sustainability practices and building the foundation for continuous improvement. We elaborated guidelines for accommodations and guides, as well as best practices for our travellers, ensuring that everyone involved in our trips can make informed and responsible choices. These resources guide ethical decision-making, responsible travel behavior, and environmental awareness across all aspects of our operations.

We also conducted three training sessions on CO₂ awareness and responsible travel, helping team members understand what a carbon footprint is, how it is generated through travel activities, and how it can be assessed. During these sessions, we discussed how CO₂ emissions can be calculated, taking into account transportation, accommodation, and activities, as well as the limits and uncertainties of such calculations. The training also covered how CO₂ compensation works, including the role of nature-based solutions and the importance of transparency, traceability, and long-term impact. Based on these discussions, we decided to develop our own CO₂ compensation program, allowing us to maintain direct oversight of the methodology, clearly communicate assumptions, and ensure that contributions are linked to concrete, verifiable actions. These sessions ensure that everyone involved in designing and guiding trips is equipped to explain environmental impacts to travellers and integrate sustainability considerations into trip planning in a credible and transparent way.

To involve our travellers in the process even more, we also introduced a sustainability feedback questionnaire for guests. This allows travellers to share their experiences, provide tips, and give both positive and constructive feedback. By collecting and analyzing this information, we can continuously improve our sustainability initiatives and make our trips even more environmentally and socially responsible.

We conducted two internal sustainability meetings with our team to review progress, share knowledge, and discuss ways to improve our practices. To ensure open and honest communication, we use an anonymous feedback questionnaire, the results of which are shared and discussed during meetings. This process not only helps us enhance sustainability of internal aspects but also promotes a healthy and collaborative team environment.

Beyond internal activities, we continued to support conservation initiatives and responsible tourism projects. For example, we contribute to the Adopt a Nest initiative of the Institute Arara Azul in the Pantanal, which focuses on the reproduction, monitoring, and rewilding of local Blue Macaw populations.

As mentioned before, we are also preparing a CO₂ compensation program in collaboration with RPPN Itororó, a private reserve in the Atlantic Rainforest. This preparation phase includes the exchange of maps and data, as well as the planning of restoration and monitoring activities. These initiatives allow travellers to engage with meaningful conservation work and support climate action on site.

4. Outlook and Next Steps

Looking ahead, Aventura do Brasil will continue to strengthen its sustainability practices and embed responsible tourism more deeply into everyday operations. A key priority is to complete the Travelife certification process and move from Travelife Partner to Travelife Certified, further formalizing the systems and practices we have already put in place.

We will continue to hold regular internal meetings and trainings, ensuring that sustainability remains an ongoing process rather than a one-time effort. Topics such as responsible travel planning, CO₂ awareness, and the evaluation of internal and guest feedback will remain central to our approach.

An important next step is the finalization and implementation of our own CO₂ calculation tool, which is already in an advanced stage of development. We will be able to offer individually calculated CO₂ values for our travellers, based on their specific itineraries. This allows travellers to clearly understand the carbon footprint of their journey and to decide voluntarily whether they wish to compensate for these emissions. By providing transparent information rather than mandatory offsets, we aim to support informed choices and build trust in our approach to climate responsibility.

In parallel, we are working toward the implementation of a CO₂ compensation program to support ongoing reforestation activities in RPPN Itororó, located in the Atlantic Rainforest. Building on the preparatory work carried out in 2025, this program aims to offer a transparent, traceable, and nature-based option for travellers to voluntarily compensate for the emissions associated with their journeys.

Travellers who visit the Eco Lodge Itororó will have the opportunity to visit the reserve, see the progress of restoration activities, and, where appropriate, take part in hands-on actions such as tree planting.

Through these next steps, Aventura do Brasil reaffirms its commitment to continuous improvement, transparency, and responsible travel, contributing to more sustainable tourism in Brazil over the long term.

5. Conclusion - 2025

2025 was an important learning year for Aventura do Brasil. We are proud to have built a solid foundation for our future sustainability work, both within our team and in the way we plan and communicate our trips. Through discussions, trainings, and feedback from both colleagues and travellers, we gained valuable insights into how we can improve and grow responsibly.

This year helped us better understand our impacts and how to address them in a transparent and meaningful way. Looking ahead, we are motivated to further integrate sustainability into our travel itineraries, strengthen our support for conservation initiatives, and develop new opportunities for travellers to engage with projects that make a real difference. We see this as an ongoing journey, and 2025 marked a strong first step.
