Itinerary
Day 1: Going into the Amazon Rainforest
Included: Transfer with a Stop at the "Meeting of the Waters" (in-group, 3h) | Canoeing, Caiman Spotting (in-group) | Lunch, Dinner
Your adventure into the Amazon Rainforest begins at your hotel in Manaus at around 7:00 a.m. when you will be picked up. During the journey to the lodge you will be able to observe the famous “Meeting of the Waters,” where the different colored Rio Solimoes and Rio Negro run side by side for several miles before combining into the mighty Rio Amazonas. After arriving at Juma Amazon Lodge and a warm greeting you will enjoy your first lunch, comprised of international and regional cuisine.
Together with an English-speaking guide and other visitors you will set off in canoes for a first trip through the rivers and flooded forest areas, where you might see pink dolphins and also have the opportunity to swim.
At night you will go on a safari after dinner. From the boat the guide will point his flashlight through the river bank slopes to discover, catch, and show a caiman which will be released later - unharmed, of course.

Day 2: Bird Watching Tour and Departure

The day starts with an early excursion. You will see the magnificent Amazon sunrise while you listen to the sounds of the awaking jungle. This time is also great for bird watching. Equipped with professional binoculars, you might be able to spot a toucan, egret, or a colorful parrot.
Breakfast includes lots of fruit and typical regional food. On the way back to Manaus you will stop at a floating dock where you can observe the giant pirarucu or arapaima fish which can grow up to 9.8 feet (3 meters) and 440 lbs (200 kg). Afterward, the transfer continues to the airport or your hotel in Manaus where you will arrive around noon.

Info
- All excursions and transfers will be done in small groups with other guests. The limit for baggage is 22 lbs (10 kg) per person. Excess baggage can be deposited in Manaus at the lodge's office or your hotel.
- Additional lodge visitors can join the day trips and the transfers to / from Juma Amazon Lodge. However, this does not have to be the case.
- The itinerary can be adjusted according to weather conditions. The order of excursions can change and animal sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Credit cards are not accepted at the lodge. Please bring some cash for additional expenses at the bar and restaurant.
