Trancoso is located in the state of Bahia on the east coast of Brazil. This rustic village, a fishing colony at its core, has about 10,000 inhabitants and is picturesquely situated on a steep slope with views of beautiful beaches and the wide ocean. The fine sandy beach of Trancoso once became famous when it was featured in the music video of Kaoma's legendary song "Lambada." If you want to go fishing and discover natural pools, the best place to go is Praia Ponta de Itapororoca. In Trancoso you can expect generally warm temperatures. In the summer, from December to February, the average temperature ranges between 70 °F (21 °C) and 86 °F (30 °C). In the winter (June-August), the temperature reaches 64 °F (18 °C) to 81 °F (27 °C). January, February and August have the lowest rainfall. In April, July and October there is more rain.
