Brazil Travel Packages: Bom Jardim

Bom Jardim, with its crystal clear rivers, waterfalls and caves, is a place to visit from our insider advice. The small town, with 500 inhabitants in the state of Mato Grosso, was only recently discovered by sustainable tourism. Since then, it has been attracting increasing attention, especially because of its varied natural beauty in the immediate vicinity of the North Pantanal. Thanks to the calcareous soil, the water of the Salobra and Triste rivers is crystal clear and shimmers in wonderful shades of turquoise and blue. Swimming and snorkeling allow you to admire the breathtaking underwater world at close range. Bird lovers can watch countless parrots during a hike to Lagoa das Araras. The birds live in the palm trees around the lagoon and show their flying skills at sunrise and sunset. We recommend a guided tour, as accommodations and sightseeing are only viable on unpaved roads. Bom Jardim is located north of the Pantanal. The best time for your visit is during the dry season (May-September), as the water can become cloudy when it rains. However, the rainy season also has its own charm, when the rivers carry more water and the waterfalls come to life. Daily high temperatures are between 88 °F (31 °C) from January to April, and 95 °F (35 °C) in September. At night, however, it can become relatively cool with temperatures ranging from 60 °F (16 °C) to 72 °F (22 °C). You should also note the higher rainfall rate from October to April.
